Mould Inspection and Report

Enviro Group Services specialists will conduct a thorough inspection of the home or building to determine the best process to eliminate the root cause of the mould growth – water ingress problem from blocked or damaged drains and gutters, ineffective weather proofing, ground water from flooding, indoor condensation due to poor ventilation, and so on.

Conducting an assessment of a WDB is not an exact science and there is no single method or instrument that can be used in isolation.

We generally use protimeter (moisture) readings, infrared imaging, temperature, humidity and dew point readings to assess indoor moisture levels and identify areas of concern. We can take surface and air samples to identify mould types and spore counts if necessary.

We provide a written report detailing our findings and recommendations, including an itemised quotation.

The cost of the report is $350

GST Included (Report + Quote)

Enviro Group Services has internationally recognised accreditation in the fields of water restoration and applied microbial restoration (mould remediation). Our specialists are certified by the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification for Applied Microbial Remediation and Water Damage Restoration.

The Inspection Process

1. Find the source
Identify the source(s) of moisture unique to the site and the extent of moisture damage that supports microbial growth.
2. Inspect the damage
Determine the extent fungal particulate has spread from the original source (actual growth) to adjacent areas. This is achieved by quantifying visible mould and odours (NIOSH tool), and sampling (surface and air) in order to establish the Condition (1 to 3) of water-damaged materials.
3. Find the pathways
Identify potential air pathways by which fungal particulate may move through the building from the moisture source (stair wells, lift shafts, chimneys, exhaust fans, HVAC systems, vacuum cleaners…)
4. Recommend and quote
Provide recommendations to deal with moisture sources, and address water-damaged materials and contents. This may require you to refer them on to a IICRC mould remediator/restorer, roof specialist, health care professional, HVAC specialist, licensed plumber, waterproof membrane consultant, hydrologist / drainage expert, specialist drying technician…
