Mould Fogging (Misting)

One of the most effective ways to treat mould spread is through mould fogging or misting.  Spraying spore-killing solutions allows our specialists to cover large areas rather than target isolated spots.

The spray mist coats surfaces in a non-toxic sodium based solution, while also destroying airborne mould spores. The specially formulated fungistat polymers used in the process are EPA registered and do not contain any harsh chemicals.

We recommend and use mould fogging for roof voids and for soil areas such as sub-floors. Misting is not used when removing pieces of building material affected by mould, as it introduces moisture and can disperse the spores. In such cases, we use different techniques as part of our mould remediation process.

Enviro Group Services has internationally recognised accreditation in the fields of water restoration and applied microbial restoration (mould remediation). Our specialists are certified by the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification for Applied Microbial Remediation and Water Damage Restoration.

The Fogging Process

1. Inspect the building
Identify mould affected areas through our inspection and report services. Fogging may be needed following other mould remediation services, such as subfloor waterproofing and removal.
2. Evacuate people and pets
Clear the space of all people and animals, to prepare for our remediation technicians.
3. Move objects
Relocate personal items to ensure the fog is able to come into contact with any hard-to-reach places.
4. Set up and release the fog
The fogging machine will be set up, and release a thick antimicrobial mist which will spread throughout the affected location, and kill any active mould spores on surfaces or in the air.
5. Let it settle
Allow the fog to spread and then settle, before re-entering the space (usually 4-8h).
